St.Lucia Volcano Tour Reviews and Comments
“Best of fun and an awesome experience ” |
|
Myself and my husband took this as part of an all day trip and we will definitely be returning when we go back to St Lucia now in two weeks again. We really didn't know what to expect when we booked this trip but it was one of the best excursions that we done on the island. When we arrived we couldn't believe the breath taking views or the breath taking smell of sulphur lol but after a few minutes you don't notice it anymore. This experience not only does wonders to you skin but also your mind. The mud helps in so many ways that I couldn't explain it all but I promise your skin will feel incredible, it will help with any sunburn you may have or any dry skin...after you are covered in mud you keep it on to dry and you head off to the most gorgeous diamond waterfall so you can cool down and wash it all off. Overall the day is brilliant and I'm so looking forward to doing it all again in two weeks.

“Timing is everything”
We arrived at the mud baths at the Sulphur Springs just before the large bus groups excursion from the Sandals Resort. It was the best experience. So if you are not in a large group excursion, try to get there early to avoid feeling like you are being herded. Our guide /driver kevin gave us a good experience.

"Great Experience"
I'm not really into "spa" type activities, but this was included in an excursion, so we tried it. I had a bit of a sun burn, so the hot water and the drying mud was a bit uncomfortable, but after it was washed away, my skin was incredibly smooth. Staff is very friendly, they help you through the process and are more then will to indulge everyone asking for their picture to be taken! : ) Overall, a great experience.

“Fun in the mud bath!”
The sulphur springs have some really fun qualities. The mud bath is a must. For a small cost, you get to put the good mud all over you. There are people there as well to help you out. I would recommend that you go in the late part of the afternoon. We walked in around 2:30 and a huge group was leaving and there was just about no one there. It's not very big so a bg crowd might make it not as fun.

"MUST SEE & DO IN ST.LUCIA"
This is a neat place to visit when you are looking for things to do in St Lucia. It was interesting to see the sulfur fumaroles and bubbling water. Guides take you through a short walk (including stairs) and explain various aspects of the volcano. Several persons in our group did the mud-bath, and enjoyed it. This is definitely fun for kids to see, and anyone interested in nature and geology.

"A SPECIAL EXPERIENCE"
Obviously the sulphur smell will put some people off, but it's well worth holding your nose and ignoring it as this place is well worth a visit. We didn't do the mud baths, we just went on the tour but it does get you up close to one of the more primeval experiences on St Lucia. Watching the steam rising and the mud bubbling up through the earth's surface was great, and kept our kids interest as well.

Great Fun - geology great!”
There are three things here, the hot baths / mud smearing fun, the short walk and view over the sulphur springs, and the longer walk up the hill to the interpretation centre about the geological setting. I enjoyed all three. The mud smearing is smelly and the setting is basic in terms of changing facilities etc and some of the mud can be a bit abrasive but if you get into the spirit of things it can be very comical and good fun to participate in. You can wash off the mud in the hot baths and there are showers if you want to get "completely" cleaned up. We went early at 9.00 to avoid the cruiseship crowds. The bubbling sulphur springs are overlooked by a path where you are guided by a guide who will explain a little bit about what was going on. The interpretation centre is well worth the walk up the hill as the short video and exhibits are quite well done.

“Surprising Springs”
The sulphur springs were interesting and our guide was knowledgeable. The water near heats up and you can take a mud bath here. Watching the other people paint the mud on and then doing it ourselves was fun.

“HOT! HOT! HOT!”
The temp was a bit over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. My daughter dipped her toes in and quickly took them out. I did the same. I tried again and our tour guide told us to just do it and not think of it. I bravely went in but didn't stay long! Once the mud was put on and then dried, I went back in and this time it was much easier! My skin glistened and glowed for days! They say it makes you look 10 years younger!! When I got back home, people said I look so relaxed and so much younger -- maybe it does work!!!
